• Maya was still deep in the most peaceful sleep she'd had in months when she felt a persistent tap on her body. The sensation pulled her from her dreams, and she hissed in annoyance, instinctively pulling the luxurious quilt over her entire body to block out whatever was disturbing her perfect slumber.
