• “Leilani,” I grumbled. “I’ve been busy. There’s a lot on my plate.” I tried to keep the irritation from showing too much.
• “Now, where’s your father? I need to see him,” I said. Since the person who was supposed to take me to him is wasting so much time, I better ask another who might know where he is.
