Chapter 15 Arrival In Norrbotten
- The moment the plane’s wheels hit the runway, I let out a long, slow breath I didn’t even know I’d been holding. The engines’ soft hum and the muted chatter of passengers faded as I stared out of the small oval window. Below me, snow-capped mountains stretched toward the horizon, their white peaks almost meeting the pale sky.
- I’d never imagined myself in a place like this, so far from Enrico’s estate, so far from the nightmare I’d barely escaped. I turned to Holvaster, who was already gathering his bag. He looked calm and confident, exactly the way he always did. A few rows behind us, I saw Linda standing up, tightening the scarf around her neck before shooting me a reassuring smile.
- I felt a rush of gratitude. Linda had been my rock in Holvaster’s house, and seeing her here made my heart lift. I glanced back at the window one more time, then followed Holvaster down the narrow aisle.
