• It's a little after eight in the morning when I stir awake, my head hot and throbbing — mouth dry. I don't bother stretching a hand to check the other side of the bed to see if Titania is still asleep, because I know she's not. She slipped out of the room a few moments ago, clutching her lingerie.
• Last night was the first time I slept next to a woman without any sexual intent in a long while. It normally goes one of both ways — either I can't control myself and we end up staying up all night, fucking like wild rabbits, or I slip away in the middle of the night, downstairs, to sleep on the couch. But last night, I slept soundlessly, spooning her from behind. When she curled her fist around my dick, I was surprised. I knew she loathed me, knew she wanted anything than to sleep next to me, but I couldn't explain this new direction she was headed. For once, I didn't know what she had going on in that head of hers.

After sex, she holes herself up in the bathroom, or sleep on the cold hotel floor, farther away from the guy she picked up for the night.
