- It was just past seven in the morning. The sunlight filtered gently through the curtains, painting the walls in golden hues. The air felt fresh and crisp, but I couldn't quite bask in it. Not fully. Sargis had already left, something about matters in the southern borders needing his oversight. He hadn't said much when he left, just gave me a small nod and whispered that he'd return by midday, right after he ordered breakfast to be brought to my room.
