• “She looked terrified,” Hasmik mumbled at last, the words tumbling from her like she hadn’t meant to say them aloud. She hunched slightly, darting her eyes around the table. “I would go with her, but…” she faltered, twisting her napkin in her lap, “I understand this is between both of them.”
