- I stormed toward the elevator. My mind was a thundercloud of restrained fury. My hand hovered over the polished buttons before I slammed the one marked GUEST WING. I could still smell her, Onika. That floral, spice-laced scent she always doused herself in like perfume could hide the stench of her intentions.
- The elevator doors opened with a soft ding, far too gentle for how fast my pulse was beating. I stalked down the marble-floored hallway, following the unmistakable trails of their scents. Hers, still nauseatingly sweet.
