Chapter 36
- The morning sun shone warmly as Daniel stepped into Ayu's front yard with great enthusiasm. He wore a simple white shirt and linen trousers, his hair neatly styled, and in his hand was a small box of traditional Balinese snacks he had just bought. His stride was confident, though a slight nervousness flickered in his eyes.
- From the bale dangin, Ayu’s father was arranging offerings for a ceremony, while her mother was hanging laundry. Ayu, who had been sweeping the yard, immediately stood up when she saw Daniel approaching.
- “Good morning, sir, ma’am,” Daniel greeted politely with a bow. “Sorry to disturb you, I’d like to ask your permission to... take Ayu out today.”
