• Ayu looked into her grandmother’s eyes. Her gaze no longer trembled. “I’m not dancing to prove who’s right or wrong, Grandma. I’m dancing… because this is the only thing I can do without betraying my love and my ancestral land.”
• Ayu’s grandmother slowly nodded. “Then let this land witness how steadfast your heart is in defending them both.”
• Daniel stepped closer, his legs slightly trembling beneath the traditional Balinese cloth wrapped around his athletic frame. But his eyes… his eyes no longer held any doubt. “Ayu,” he called softly. “If I forget the moves later, just keep dancing. I’m not here to be perfect in their eyes.
