Chapter 30

  • The morning sun lit up the rice fields sprawling beyond Ayu's backyard. The air in the village felt cleaner, more honest, and every scent of the damp earth after yesterday’s rain made Daniel feel... at home. Though not everyone welcomed him yet, he wasn’t discouraged. He learned how to plant rice, to arrange small irrigation channels from the subak, and he quietly jotted down new terms that still sounded like riddles—Balinese words that puzzled his ears.
  • "Daniel, sing ngidih. Ipun sing tiang percaya."
