Chapter 16 Shake The Entire City

  • On Lakeham Isle in Kenfort stood a mansion that was surrounded by water. It was a beautiful sight.
  • Under normal circumstances, there would be many tourists. That day, however, a murderous aura hung in the air.
  • “Everyone, whether I can continue being in this position will depend on all of you.” With a grim expression, Timothy, who was over forty years old, sat in the main seat of the mansion's hall.
  • The two people on either side of him had drastically different auras. One was his best friend, while the other was his subordinate. Timothy had invited them to aid in the battle.
  • He had even spent a great deal of money to invite four of Jadeborough's famous fighters to help with the battle that day.
  • Right then, Colin entered the hall with Winston.
  • Timothy and Colin had been the best of friends for many years. At first, the former thought Colin had brought him a surprise. However, Timothy imperceptibly frowned in confusion when he saw the skinny, young stranger.
  • After greeting the crowd, Colin brought Winston straight to an empty seat without introducing the latter.
  • Everyone in front of them was powerful and influential. Hence, they would not think much of Winston even if he were introduced to them.
  • Thus, it was better to show his powers during a critical moment. That way, he could earn their respect.
  • The objectives for that day were to acquire the Centennial Peacock Gallbladder and test Winston's abilities.
  • After all, Richard had been describing Winston as a remarkable fighter.
  • Soon, backup started arriving one by one.
  • Not long after, someone rushed in from the outside, shouting, “They're here. They're here!”
  • “How many of them?” Timothy's stomach lurched.
  • “Two! But the way they're coming over is...”
  • “Why are there so few of them?” Puzzled, Timothy shot to his feet. “Let's go out and take a look.”
  • Immediately, everyone hurried out of the hall and arrived outside.
  • Everyone was stunned when they saw the scene before them.
  • The two silhouettes were not crossing the bridge nor rowing a boat. Instead, they were coming from the other side of the lake by walking on the water. It was a bizarre sight.
  • Huh?
  • The scene before him caused Winston's eyes to glint, and a smile of amusement appeared on his lips.
  • Soon, the duo arrived at the bank. With a single leap, they appeared before everyone.
  • One of them was a man around Timothy's age. He was slim, vicious-looking, and had a pair of eyes that glinted coldly, making him resemble a poisonous snake.
  • His partner was a bald old man who had an indifferent expression. The look he shot the crowd was as if he were gazing at a pile of corpses.
  • “Leophard, I can get rid of you today just like how I did back then. You want to kill me, eh? It won't be that easy!” Timothy's eyes were instantly filled with a murderous intent when he saw the vicious-looking man. Then, he clapped.
  • Many hostile-looking fighters rushed out from both sides of the mansion, besieging Leophard Lowthe and his companion.
  • “They're just a group of weaklings. Too bad, Timothy. Even the gods can't save you today. Attack!” Leophard scanned his surroundings and snorted disdainfully before charging toward his enemies like a hungry wolf.
  • What happened next was reminiscent of a wolf being let loose among a flock of sheep.
  • The battle was decidedly one-sided and in Leophard's favor.
  • Timothy's men would have had zero chance of fighting back even if they had weapons with them.
  • Soon, the chaotic situation quietened down.
  • Timothy's fighters were all collapsed on the ground.
  • The result left Timothy and the other skilled fighters who had come to aid the battle stunned.
  • H-How's that possible?
  • “It's your turn now! I heard Timothy spent a lot to hire all of you. Come on. Let me see how powerful you are.” Leophard took two steps forward and glanced at the crowd on both sides, especially the four elite fighters Timothy had specially hired.
  • The four elite fighters had already turned pale from watching the fight earlier. As elite fighters, they had a good sense of judgment. Clearly, they were no match for him.
  • However, they could not retreat now that things had come to this.
  • Provoked by the challenge from Leophard, the owner of Primo Fighting Gym, Hugo Goldstein, was the first to stand up.
  • “You pretentious trash! Let me teach you a lesson.” As Hugo was saying that, he lunged forward and twisted his body when he was closer to his opponent, wanting to give the latter a front kick.
  • Bam!
  • Sadly, before he could unleash his attack, Leophard swiftly lifted his leg and kicked Hugo in the stomach, sending the latter flying backward.
  • His actions were incredibly fast.
  • If Leophard did not retract his leg slowly, no one would have seen how Hugo was sent flying into the air.
  • After being momentarily stunned, the second elite fighter mustered his courage and got up under Timothy's and Leophard's watchful eyes.
  • He was Pierce Keller, Jadeborough's number one kickboxing coach.
  • “Try me, then!” he said.
  • Pierce was skilled in punches, and he was well-trained in other skills.
  • Using kickboxing tactics, Pierce slowly moved toward Leophard as he looked for any flaws in the latter's defense as leverage to attack.
  • Before Pierce could even get near to him, Leophard appeared before the former in a flash and punched him straight in the face. Pierce crashed to the ground, instantly knocked out by the blow.
  • Similarly, the other two elite fighters were defeated before they could even launch their attacks.
  • The sight of all four elite fighters defeated in the blink of an eye put a grim expression on Timothy's face.
  • “Timothy, I told you before that I'll get back what was once mine.” Leophard's gaze was deadly as he made his way toward Timothy, casting Colin and the others a glance at the same time. “The others can get lost. I'll talk to each one of you after this!”
  • Colin's expression was dark as he glanced at Winston subconsciously.
  • Just then, Winston stepped out nonchalantly and said to Timothy, “Here's the deal. Give me the Centennial Peacock Gallbladder, and I'll help you deal with them. What do you think?”
  • “You?” Timothy eyed him suspiciously. Petulant, he said, “Fine. If you can eliminate them, I'll even give you half of Tiger Fury Chamber of Commerce, let alone an emerald.”
  • Deep down, he doubted Winston had any capability. What can a nameless young man do when all four elite fighters have been defeated so terribly?
  • Not bothered by Timothy's tone of speech, Winston walked forward and blocked Leophard's way.
  • “Young man, are you courting death? Move aside, and I can pretend I didn't see you.” Leophard frowned as he scrutinized Winston.
  • “No way! I've got a precious item to get from him after dealing with you two.” Winston smiled.
  • “Then you're just asking for death!” Leophard shook his head. His eyes glinted with danger, and he charged forward, attempting to throw a punch at Winston's face.
  • Colin became tense when he saw the scene.
  • Even those men who've been training for half of their lifetime weren't a match for Leophard. Can Winston really defeat him?
  • What happened next made him sigh with relief.
  • Right as Leophard's fist was about to slam into Winston, the latter suddenly lifted his hand and grabbed Leophard's wrist with immense strength.
  • At the same time, a fist landed on Leophard's chest abruptly.
  • Crack!
  • The sound of bones cracking followed, and Leophard flew out while screaming.
  • “Huh?” The bald elderly man's pupils constricted, and his expression turned grim. “Nice one, young man. You've hidden your abilities well. Who exactly are you?”
  • Winston dusted his hands as if he had done something unimportant and said to the elderly man, “Cut the crap. Do it quickly if you want to fight.”
  • “Insolent fool!” raged the bald man. He sprinted forward at a speed so fast that he disappeared into a blur. It was impossible to see him clearly.
  • He then stretched out his fingers like an eagle's claws, aiming directly for Winston's head.
  • “You're the insolent one!” Winston scoffed and threw his fist.
  • Crack!
  • The two hands collided under the crowd's concerned gaze, and the sound of bones cracking traveled through the air.
  • Before anyone could react, the elderly man retracted his arm quickly as if he had been electrocuted, letting out a blood-curdling scream.
  • However, Winston did not let him go because of that. In fact, he raised his leg and kicked the man, sending the latter sailing through the air.
  • Leophard and the elderly man never expected such a formidable man as Winston to be at that place. Though they could not accept the outcome, they still left anxiously.
  • Winston gave the duo a glance before turning to Timothy. “All right. Now that everything is over, give me the emerald.”
  • Timothy was still frozen to the spot, stupefied by the events that had just happened before him.
  • Upon hearing Winston's words, Timothy finally snapped back to reality and hurriedly said, “Of course, of course. Please hold on. I'll get it for you right away.”
  • After handing over the Centennial Peacock Gallbladder, Timothy insisted on holding a feast to thank Winston, his savior.
  • Unable to excuse himself out of it, and with Colin's persuasion, Winston had no choice but to stay for the meal.
  • One could easily imagine how the entire meal went. All the fighters who came to aid the battle treated Winston as a guest with the utmost respect.
  • No one knew if Colin had too much to drink or if he was trying to help Winston gain supporters, but during the meal, the former mentioned Winston was holding a party at Argos Tower to celebrate his sister's sixteenth birthday. With that, Colin extended the invitation to everyone there.
  • No one dared to refuse the invitation.
  • Not to mention Winston had displayed his abilities that day, which made everyone respect him more. Everyone wanted to be on his good side.
  • Thus, all the guests promised they would attend the party.
  • Although everyone present was not greater than Richard in status, they were not too far from Colin's either.
  • In a way, they represented almost half of Jadeborough's powers.
  • If so many of them attended a young lady's birthday party, it would definitely be shocking news to the entire city.
