Chapter 10 Useless

  • Taking a deep breath, Jennifer suppressed her envy and said, “Eden Hospital was built upon Mr. Ginsel's reputation. It's located in the most prosperous district in Jadeborough and earns an annual profit of tens of millions. If it's sold alongside its brand, it'll be worth a ridiculous amount. This is so annoying! Money just keeps coming to you.”
  • “An annual profit of tens of millions... That's decent.” Since Winston used to be worth millions and did not lack any money, he did not really feel much.
  • However, it was quite impressive for Colton to develop a private hospital to such a level.
  • “What do you mean decent? You're just bragging! I don't care. I'm going to cling to you as my pillar of support.” Jennifer rolled her eyes.
  • “Sure, no problem! Didn't I say that I'm all open to people clinging to me? You're the perfect candidate!” Winston smiled.
  • “Stop being so smug!”
  • In the silence of the night, Winston sat in front of the windows cross-legged. Facing the darkness of the night sky, he fell into a magical realm.
  • Being Winnie's scapegoat was also a blessing too.
  • His experience in prison allowed him to experience a whole new world.
  • Were it not for his sister being poisoned, what Winnie and Hugh did would be nothing more than insignificant jokes.
  • The night passed by in an instant.
  • Winston went to his sister's room the next morning. He forced out a grained-size drop of Red Dust with a silver needle and kept it.
  • Others might only know the Red Dust as a rare poison. However, they did not know that once it was added to other medicines, it would become a treasure that could alter one's body.
  • Jennifer also woke up early and prepared a simple breakfast.
  • The two of them barely had a bite when the same headlines popped up on their phone screens—The celebratory ceremony for Oceanic Corporation being listed, as well as the engagement date between Hugh Gable, its CEO, and Winnie Lohan have been pushed forward! They will be held at the top of Argos Tower on the ninth of September!
  • “That shameless couple! Karma will strike them sooner or later!” When Jennifer read the news, she was so furious that she tossed her cutlery down and stopped eating.
  • On the other hand, Winston did not react much. He finished reading the report with narrowed eyes. However, a smile played on his lips.
  • They're keeping such a high profile. Are they trying to say something? If that's the case, I'll make them appear on the headlines tomorrow again.
  • After eating, Jennifer left for work.
  • Winston coaxed his sister to sleep before leaving the house as well.
  • He was supposed to treat Richard in Colton's rehabilitation center.
  • When Winston arrived, Colin and Colton were waiting at the entrance. Richard had already been sent inside.
  • “Mr. Coldrell, other than you, there's another doctor that the family has invited. Please don't be bothered by it!” said Colin in embarrassment as he snuck a glance at Winston timidly.
  • “Cyren Goldgara is crazy! We can't just mess around with Old Mr. Ryderman's illness. His medical skills are on par with mine. I know clearly how skilled he is in the operating theater. If he dares to operate on Old Mr. Ryderman just like that, he'd be overestimating himself.” Colton looked grim.
  • “It doesn't matter. If he can cure Old Mr. Ryderman, I'm fine with that too!” Winston shook his head.
  • It was understandable for the family members to be so desperate that they would get more people to treat the illness.
  • “It's good that you are okay with that. Regardless of whether you can cure Old Mr. Ryderman today, I'll still try my best to give you the Emerald Chalcedony!”
  • Colin heaved a sigh of relief secretly when he saw that Winston did not seem angry.
  • There was a huge reason why he placed so much importance on Winston.
  • Colton was extremely reputable in Jadeborough. Everyone treated him with the utmost respect. If he valued and admired Winston so much, it proved that Winston was not just an ordinary person.
  • Furthermore, he had seen the video of Winston saving that girl using the Quad Needle Technique. It was indeed miraculous!
  • He had also asked someone to investigate Winston's background. Although it was stated on paper that he had just left prison, Winston's real identity caused a chill to run down his spine.
  • Neither Colin nor the Rydermans, who were one of the three major families, could afford to mess around with Winston.
  • In fact, he was stooping beneath himself to treat Richard.
  • However, Colin did not tell anyone about this. There was some information that must not be shared with others.
  • Soon, the three of them arrived at Richard's hospital ward. An old man lay on the bed, his hair and beard completely white.
  • Upon a closer glimpse, one would realize that his face was not pale and bloodless like other patients. Instead, there was an unnatural blush.
  • Weirdly enough, his breathing was sometimes strong and sometimes weak—it was unstable like a roller coaster.
  • This strange phenomenon caused a glint of a surprise to flash across Winston's eyes.
  • How interesting! No wonder other ordinary doctors are helpless to do anything.
  • At that moment, there was a chubby and tanned elderly man taking Richard's pulse. He must be Cyren, whom Colton mentioned earlier.
  • When the old man noticed the three of them entering, he turned around and glanced over.
  • “Haha! Colton, is he the expert whom you've invited? He's just an immature brat. What can he possibly know? This is such a joke!”
  • Cyren laughed coldly when he checked Winston out in disdain.
  • It was not just him. When the Rydermans in the hospital ward looked at Winston, their eyes were filled with contempt.
  • The old lady in the middle of the crowd glanced at Winston without any expressions before glaring at Colin fiercely.
  • The sole reason was that Winston was simply too young.
  • All the famous doctors had a lot of experience accumulated over the years.
  • When it came to experience, a young doctor had none of that.
  • “Cyren, just focus on your treatment. It's none of your business who I found. Focus on yourself instead!” Colton snorted coldly.
  • An awkward look spread across Colin's face as he snuck a peek at Winston. When he saw that Winston did not react much, he heaved a sigh of relief secretly.
  • “Colton, although we're on the same level in Jadeborough, others think that your medical skills are superior to mine! Now, let's test it out on Old Mr. Ryderman. I'll show you how I cure my patients!”
  • Scoffing coldly, Cyren took Richard's pulse again before taking out a silver needle and poking it into him directly.
  • A glint appeared in Winston's eyes when he saw that. He shook his head.
  • Since everyone's attention was directed to Richard, no one noticed his actions.
  • Even if they did, they would not care.
  • After poking the first needle in, Cyren quickly took out a few more silver needles and inserted them into Richard's acupoints.
  • A strange expression crossed Winston's face when he saw what was going on. In the end, he could not help but sigh.
  • When everyone heard the sigh, they immediately turned around and glanced at him.
  • Even Cyren spun around and glared at Winston. “You brat! What are you doing? You're disturbing my treatment! Can you bear the responsibility for that?”
  • “I'll only let this slide once. If you dare to do anything else, get lost!” bellowed Melinda fiercely, glaring at Winston.
  • When he heard that, he frowned. Usually, he would have left a long time ago.
  • However, they had the Emerald Chalcedony. If he lost this opportunity, he did not know where else to find it.
  • Furthermore, he had to show some respect to Colin and Colton.
  • When everyone saw that Winston remained quiet, their disdain for him grew.
  • The more skillful a person is, the greater his temper. If he still didn't say anything after being yelled at, he's probably incapable.
