• The next day, Jace stood in his office, peering out the window at the sweeping cityscape. The weight of his grandfather's retirement weighed heavy on his shoulders; Malvis and Co.'s continued success now lies on his shoulders.
• The confrontation he had with Avalynn the night before was also replaying in his head, but he pushed it aside. He had to get his brain straight and focus on the recent concern, the coming merger with TerraCorp, which his granddad had been carefully planning out for quite a long time.
• Jace's phone vibrated, jerking him out of his thoughts. He received a text message from his grandfather- "Come meet me. We need to talk about TerraCorp."
