• As Avalynn considered the idea of Jace having a woman in his life, an involuntary shiver ran down her spine, but she swiftly brushed it off. Her mind was abuzz with competing thoughts.
• How could someone as handsome, charismatic, and wealthy as Jace not have a partner already? Why had he proposed a contractual marriage instead of simply choosing one of the many women who undoubtedly surrounded him?
