• Jace stared against the rays of the early morning sun shining through the curtains, trying to put together the scattered bits of his memories as he woke up with a throbbing headache, the remains of the previous night's partying remaining at his consciousness.
• Elena slept by his side, her appearance prompting a wave of shock and anger.
