Chapter 38 Sick Grandpa

• After coming back from the hotel, Athena went directly to her room before locking herself in. She wasn’t in the right state of mind to face anyone right now after all that happened. She just laid under her blanket, as she was too exhausted and brokenhearted. Each moment she remembered his harsh words and insults, she broke down into sobs. She had been crying since the morning, which made her eyes red and puffy. She never imagined the outcome of her action would turn out to be so severe. Her heart was aching so badly, making it hard for her to breathe properly. A discreet knock on the door caught her attention, making her glance at the door. She removed the comforter from her body while sitting up straight on the bed.
• “Who’s it?” She asked while quickly wiping away all traces of tears with the back of her palm.
• “It's me, Kevin, Mrs. Morin.” Athena heard Kevin’s reply from the other side of the door. She heaved a long sigh before quickly fixing her appearance to make herself presentable.
