- "Prove it then," Annie said, watching him move closer. She silently prayed he would stop moving; she couldn't bear to lose to Harold upfront like this.
- "What's in it for me?" he asked, his firm features showing no hint of his thoughts. He was angry and yet in awe of Annie's newfound resolve. He saw her trying to deny his effect on her, as he could read her like an open book.
- "What?" Annie asked, forcing herself to look away from his predatory gaze.
