Chapter 19
- "Get out of here, get out!" Melanie yelled, flinging her cosmetics off the table. She wept, walking hazily to grab her remaining alcohol bottle.
- Jay looked. Melanie's madness had never been intentional. In the few times they'd spent together, he'd known she had bipolar disorder and was trying hard to get the help she needed. Melanie sat down on the sofa, feeling every taste of the rum as she gulped it down her throat. She slowly wiped away her tears, looking around the house. That particular room, where Harold had promised to love her forever after his father brought the divorce letter. "Where is Harold?" she asked. "I know he doesn't care about me anymore, my son despise me," she added, muffling her sobs.
- "I will find Sir and inform him about your condition. I am sorry I am not much help," Jay uttered, his soft gaze slipping into her skin. She knew he loved her, and he wasn't even ashamed to acknowledge her as a beautiful woman, but right now, she needed to see beyond herself. The lad was obviously in for demerits if he stayed with her. The judgmental world would lash out on him, and it scared her. She had a soft side that hated to see him go through hell because of her.
