Chapter 11
- Harold walked into his office. No place excited him anymore. He settled down, hoping to overwork himself and distract himself from his overthinking. He thought in his heart that he had done the right thing. He would be damned if Annie were miserable because of him. He knew he couldn't stop her from falling in love with him, women always fell first when it came to him, despite their claims of maturity.
- He busied himself with formatting documents and copying important assignments. He had always loved working, but he loved pleasure more. He had some girls in the past who were simply for fun, but he knew Annie was beyond just fun. He hated his confusion but was partially pleased with his decision to set her free.
- "Where has Jay been?" Harold spoke into the telecom. "He left over an hour ago, sir. He might have gone home," the secretary responded.
