Chapter 17

• It was night, darkness enveloping the whole place, except for the buildings' lights brightening the surroundings. Harold gazed through the glass window, a place he found useful and fun to be. His demeaning eyes blazed, possibly questioning his weaknesses. How could Nathaniel ridicule him that much? he thought, wishing he still had strength in his legs.
• "So, what do you want to do, sir?" asked the calm tone of a man, corporately dressed. Harold cleared his throat and stared at the closed door. "Just make him pay," he said....
• "The driver will take you now, sugar," Harold said. He was calm in his wheelchair, intensely looking at her. Annie stood up from the bed and hurriedly changed from her nightwear into her dress, her face holding a long frown that greatly disturbed Harold.
