• I stood there, my eyes fixed on the spot where the portal was supposed to open. It was draining the life out of me and the more I tried, the more I realize I could lose my life while at it. The whole magic was draining me and nothing was hurting me more than Anaya’s betrayal. I always thought she is my friend and I remember each time I shut Julian down because he feels like something is off with her. I don’t blame her, I blame myself for being the idiot who couldn’t see when things are going wrong.
• “For someone that Julian is willing to risk his whole life for, you’re kind of useless. I wasn’t expecting this kind of sluggishness from you and to be honest, stupid people get all the privileges.” Jesse called out and I froze, there’s no way I can get this done if they keep taunting me and trying to make me look useless. Opening a portal requires a lot of focus and Akayla of all people knew that well.
