• The way Mayor Vic now made himself lord and untouchable wasn’t a surprise to Drake. He knew that the moment he got out of here, he’d find another way — another escape route and come back to slap Vic in a way he would never see coming.
• Of course, Mayor Vic already sensed Drake’s threat. In his mind, he was hunting for the perfect opportunity to take him out. Making Drake confess to all the murders that had happened in Black Hollow was the best way to do it. If the civilians heard that confession from Drake himself, they’d tear him apart with their own hands.
