Chapter 55 "You Don't Scare Me"

• Mayor Vic already knew Sammy Rivers was aware of the mysterious alien box — and somehow, he must know where it was. Before Mia Elizabeth’s death, she had spilled the secret into the wrong hands. If Mayor Vic could lay his hands on the egg, he might use it as leverage for more power. If the government or military discovered his secrets, he’d need something to negotiate with, a way to escape punishment for the countless murders on his name. Right now, if Mayor Vic ever got to the outside world, he would no longer be safe.
• The only way he could think to stay alive was to stop the alien dome from coming down. The people must remain trapped inside.
• Of course, he must not allow the dome to fall — no escape for anyone until he was certain he wouldn’t be arrested for the murders hanging over his head. Either all the civilians died with him, or the alien dome never came down.
