Chapter 15 Engagement Lunch

• Thanks to Simon's ride, she arrived at the Muller's residence on time, as arranged with his mother, Carlota, by phone days before. Half an hour later, her father and sister arrived, and, along with her mother-in-law, they headed to the living room.
• Carlota was an excellent host, outgoing and good-humored. Paulina paid attention to every gesture, memorizing them for future use, although she doubted she could act with such spontaneity. Entertaining people, talking to them about various subjects was not part of her personality. She was afraid of disappointing Nathaniel when they received guests after the wedding.
• Her concern for future events was not greater because her fiancé was late, very late. Sitting between her sister and father, who kept looking at the clock all the time, it was difficult to ignore this fact.
