Chapter 9 I Walked in Openly

• Everyone gasped, and Zoey widened her eyes in shock.
• It was the first time anyone dared to talk back to their company president. Zoey admired Roxana's courage and found it truly befitting of someone who had worked for TE Group.
• Damien narrowed his eyes. His chilling demeanor seemed to drop the temperature around him. He took a step forward so that there was less than a meter distance between them and looked down at her.
• "Mr. Jacquin, she was the head of TE Group's business planning department." Zoey jumped from fear and loudly blurted out those words.
• She knew no one could escape unscathed whenever Damien was in a threatening mood.
• So, this daring woman came from TE Group.
• TE Group has been in fierce competition with Jacquin Group in the overseas market. We lost a major deal last year because TE Group's business planning department managed to come up with something better than ours. Could this woman be the person behind the winning plan?
• "Bring her in." He nodded with a hint of amusement in his eyes. Everyone was confused by the sudden change in his demeanor.
• Zoey breathed a sigh of relief and smiled happily. But when she turned to Roxana, she found her staring at Damien.
• Roxana looked cool and was full of confidence just now. But why does she now seem dazed? Even Mr. Jacquin is frowning.
• Damien kept looking into Roxana's eyes. This gaze feels really familiar…
• Suddenly, Roxana smiled and said, "Mr. Jacquin, your employees seem nervous behind you. Do you have something urgent to deal with?"
• Damien finally looked away and turned around to leave.
• Their eyes are only slightly similar. If this woman was her, she would have glared and cursed at me by now.
• As soon as Damien left the lobby, the whole place suddenly buzzed with various conversations. Everyone was talking about Roxana.
• "That woman must have done it deliberately. She is using this tactic to seduce Mr. Jacquin."

• However, Roxana interrupted her before she could finish speaking. "Why should I bother about them? I'm the mother of two children. It's pointless to argue with them." After saying that, Roxana sighed inwardly and resolved to protect Eidan and Mia so that Damien would never find out about them.
• "You're right. Anyway, I need to prepare some documents since my boss is waiting for them. You can head to the interview hall by yourself. It is just around the corner on the fifteenth floor. By the way, what happened to your voice just now?"
• "I'll tell you about it when we get home." Roxana smiled cryptically. To avoid trouble, she had to make her voice hoarse while in Jacquin Group.
• Zoey pursed her lips and nodded. "Sure."
• Then, Roxana came to the elevator and waited.
• There was a total of three elevators. As she was waiting for one, a man with rectangular glasses stepped out of the elevator on her left. He looked well groomed with smooth fair skin and thick eyebrows. At the same time, he seemed easygoing.
• His name was Tyler Woodward. He came to a halt as soon as he saw Roxana and stared at her in surprise. "Hey ugly, how did you sneak in?"
• Roxana gave him a sideway glance and replied, "I walked in openly."
• An elevator stopped as soon as she finished speaking. Thus, she ignored him and stepped in.
• Tyler watched the elevator doors close and saw from the indicator that the elevator stopped on the fifteenth floor. Isn't there an interview to select a model for an advertisement on that floor? How did such an ugly woman become one of the final candidates for that interview?
