Chapter 18 Siding With the Enemy

• "I like walking around like this. Does it bother you?" Damien's eyes gleamed smugly. His words rendered Roxana at a loss for words.
• As I thought, this b*stard is still the same in some ways! He does whatever he likes without regard for others.
• Show off your abs all you want. I don't care.
• "Mia, let's go to another room." Roxana carried her daughter and rushed to another room.
• Suddenly, Damien's phone rang.
• "Mr. Jacquin, Lucy is here. Should I deal with her as usual by ignoring her and letting her remain in Jacquin Group?" Tyler's voice sounded on the phone. He seemed frustrated. It was bad enough that he had to work overtime, but Lucy came to cause trouble.
• Damien frowned and ordered, "Chase her out." It's only an irrelevant woman.
• "Huh? Chase her out?" Tyler nearly fell from his chair.
• "Do you know which Lucy this is? She's the one with big and sexy breasts." Tyler described her body because he was aware of Damien's face blindness.
• Damien frowned again as he listened to Tyler talking non-stop. Suddenly, the other room door opened.
• "I'm taking my daughter home. Thank you for your generosity, Mr. Jacquin."
• Damien hung up the call immediately, but Tyler still managed to hear her voice. Although Tyler could not catch what was said, he was certain that Wynter was with Damien.
• That hoarse voice. I'm certain it's her.
• My goodness! I didn't expect Damien to prefer women like her! Who would have known that he likes older women who are mothers?
• "Who gave you permission to leave?" After saying that, Damien took a laptop from a nearby bookcase and placed it on the table.
• "I can't leave? What am I supposed to do here? Have you forgotten I need to hand in a proposal to you tomorrow?"
• Damien turned on the laptop and ordered, "It's seven o'clock. You can write your proposal here, and I'll watch." He wanted to see how good she was at drafting a proposal. The loss of a major deal last year took him by complete surprise.
• "You want me to write it here? What about my daughter? I need to at least soothe her to bed first." Roxana ignored him and led Mia toward the door.
• However, Mia said, "Mommy, you can stay here. Zoey is downstairs, so you can just ask her to send me home."
• Roxana felt an urge to knock her own head against the wall. She could not believe her daughter decided to side with the enemy at this critical moment.
• "You know Zoey?" Damien asked Mia.
• "Yes. She's Zoey Lynd, my mother's best friend," Mia answered honestly.
• "Oh, it's Ms. Lynd." Damien looked at Roxana and grabbed his phone.
• Is he going to call Zoey to come here and bring Mia home?
• Thus, she became frantic and rushed to snatch the phone from him.
• Damien raised the phone away from her and pressed call at the same time. Then, he leaned slightly and placed his left hand on Roxana's waist. He held her tightly so that she could not move.
• From Mia's point of view, it seemed like Damien was holding her mother tightly in his embrace.
• Roxana did not care that her daughter was nearby and shouted, "Let me go!"
• Coincidentally, Zoey answered the call at this moment.
• Zoey nearly dropped her spoon when she saw Damien's call on her phone.
• Once she pressed to answer it, it was not Damien's stern voice that she heard, but her best friend's scream. She was so shocked that she dropped her spoon.
• "Ms. Lynd, I need you to wait at the elevator at Sky Hotel's first floor to receive Wynter's daughter." Damien hung up as soon as he finished speaking.
• Zoey was stunned. She looked at her phone screen in a daze. Did Mr. Jacquin just ask me to wait at the elevator to pick up Roxana's daughter?
• I thought Roxana was bringing Mia to the bathroom. Why have they not returned yet? Mr. Jacquin even called me to pick up Mia. Oh, my goodness! Roxana is with Mr. Jacquin, and they want me to bring Mia home.
• There is only one reason why a man and a woman want to be alone! Zoey rushed toward the elevator and forgot to take her bag.
