Chapter 16 Private Elevator

  • Mia was on the verge of tears. She bit her lower lip and replied, "Mommy, I will hold it in."
  • As Roxana carried her daughter and made a turn, a tall figure suddenly appeared before her. It was so sudden that Roxana could not stop and crashed into him. The man instinctively held the little girl in Roxana's arms. Mia bumped her nose in the impact. It hurt so much that she lost control and peed onto the man's expensive suit.
  • Roxana opened her mouth in shock and immediately apologized before she could even look at the man's face. "I'm sorry. I apologize for what happened. My daughter couldn't hold it."
  • "Wynter?" A magnetic and masculine voice sounded.
  • Roxana's eyelid throbbed as soon as she heard his voice. She looked up immediately.
  • It's him… Why is he here? Oh no! Mia peed on him!
  • Fortunately, she had not removed her disguise and had spoken in her hoarse tone just now.
  • Furthermore, she was thankful that it was Mia who was with her and not Eidan.
  • "Is she your daughter?" As soon as Damien finished asking, Mia began to move in his arms and said guiltily, "I'm sorry, sir. Mommy, please hug me."
  • He had only asked the question casually. Still, the girl called Roxana 'mommy'. It turned out Roxana had a daughter.
  • But these eyes… Damien looked away from her eyes.
  • "I'm sorry, Mr. Jacquin." Roxana's voice was hoarse, and her expression was full of remorse. She reached out to take Mia from him.
  • Thankfully, he did not notice anything wrong with her voice just now.
  • However, as she was about to touch Mia, Damien suddenly turned away.
  • "Are you married?" Damien asked coldly.
  • She nodded immediately. "Of course, I'm married. My child is already five years old."
  • "Is your husband from overseas?" Damien arched his eyebrows and looked at her questioningly.
  • "Yes," Roxana answered immediately. All she wanted was to get away from him as soon as possible. It would be disastrous if he saw Eidan.
  • "Mommy, my clothes feel uncomfortable." Mia's voice put a stop to the awkward atmosphere.
  • At this moment, a middle-aged man rushed toward them. He was stunned to see Damien holding a multiracial child. However, he recovered quickly and bowed respectfully. "Mr. Jacquin, please come this way."
  • "I have a sudden matter, so I'm leaving first." Damien's reply astounded the middle-aged man. The man had put in a lot of effort to invite Damien here, but Damien suddenly said he was leaving.
  • "Mr. Jacquin…" The middle-aged man looked at Damien pleadingly.
  • However, Damien did not even glance at him but walked ahead.
  • "Mr. Jacquin!" Roxana was anxious as he kept carrying Mia and refused to let her go. Thus, she forgo all sense of propriety and shouted at him.
  • "Mommy." Mia became anxious, too, and swung her legs. She kept moving in Damien's arms.
  • "I'm bringing you to change your clothes. Didn't you say they are uncomfortable?" His words instantly stopped Mia from moving.
  • "I want a princess dress."
  • "Sure."
  • Roxana could not hear their conversation and became even more anxious when she saw Mia remaining obedient in Damien's arms.
  • Could it be a sense of familiarity due to blood relation? Even if he does not know she is his daughter, he can't help but feel affection for her.
  • "Mr. Jacquin, please return my daughter to me." Roxana chased after Damien. As Damien had longer legs and deliberately walked fast, she only managed to catch up to him at the elevator.
  • "She feels uncomfortable in her clothes. I'm bringing her upstairs to change." Damien proceeded to press the elevator button.
  • Roxana followed him into the elevator and soon noticed something strange. There was only one number on the floor button, eighteen.
  • This elevator only traveled between the first and the eighteenth floor. Thus, it was obviously a private elevator.
