Chapter 5 The Children Were Her Pride and Joy

• "Look at how adorable those children are. I want to go over and hug them."
• "I wonder whose children they are. They are so blessed with good looks!"
• A young woman in beautiful clothes came to a boy and a girl and smiled. "Hello, can you take a photo with me?"
• The girl smiled and said in a voice as melodious as wind chimes, "Miss, I will need to ask my mother first."
• She turned to glance at the side right after saying that and suddenly raised her small hand. "Mommy, Eidan and I are here!"
• Everyone followed the girl's line of sight and saw a woman dressed in white shirt and blue jeans heading toward them.
• The woman had her hair done in an old-fashioned bun and wore a pair of outdated gold-rimmed glasses. Furthermore, her face was sallow.
• Most people were disappointed, but some even sounded disgusted. "No way. That's the children's mother? She's so ugly. How could she have given birth to such beautiful children?"
• "Perhaps the children's father had strong genes, haha. Imagine an ugly woman with a handsome man."
• The girl heard them mocking her mother and burst into fury. She shouted at them, "Mommy is the most beautiful woman in the world. You are all mean. We won't take any photos with you!"
• Roxana heard what her daughter said as she walked toward them. She could not resist smiling. "Eidan, Mia."
• Mia smiled and immediately ran to hug Roxana. On the other hand, Eidan stood still. His eyes, hidden behind his dark sunglasses, gleamed briefly before they turned emotionless again.
• Roxana caressed Mia's face and said, "You mustn't talk to strangers, okay?"
• "I understand. Mommy, can I have a kiss?" Mia stood on tiptoes and hugged Roxana tightly. She looked up adorably and melted the hearts of many people around them.
• At this moment, a loud female voice sounded. "Roxana, you heartless scoundrel. You're finally back!"
• Eidan glanced toward the voice and saw a woman dressed in a bright red dress. She had wavy maroon hair which reached her waist.
• Seeing the woman striding toward Roxana, Eidan immediately stepped forward and blocked the woman from getting any closer. He raised his eyebrows and said coldly, "How dare you call my mother a heartless scoundrel?"
• Zoey Lynd paused her step and looked at the handsome little boy before her. Then, she glanced at the golden-haired little girl in Roxana's arms.
• What she saw made her even more bewildered and confused.
• Are they Roxana's children? They seem to be of mixed parentage. Did Roxana get married while overseas?
• "Eidan, where are your manners? She's Zoey." Roxana held Mia's hand and patted Eidan's shoulder with an amused smile.
• Zoey widened her eyes in shock. They are really Roxana's children! I haven't even gotten a boyfriend, but Roxana already has children around pre-school age.
• Then, she glanced at Roxana and saw that she looked like a housewife in her late thirties. There was nothing youthful about her appearance.
• Mia smiled and went forward to hug Zoey upon hearing her name. "Nice to meet you, Zoey. I've heard about you from mommy. My name is Mia."
• Her sweet smile melted Zoey's heart. Zoey forgot about wanting to question Roxana and carried Mia in her arms.
• Eidan glanced at his mother before taking off his sunglasses and bowed gentlemanly. "Nice to meet you, Zoey."
• Zoey recovered from her shock and was now envious of Roxana. "Roxana, you're impressive! Your children are beautiful and well-spoken. I think my heart is melting from their cuteness."
• "Of course. They are my children." Roxana grinned with pride.
