Chapter 9

• “What is this?’ Sophia question but Bellamy only gesture for her to take it.
• She takes it reluctantly and her face light up in surprise at the money but then, it slowly shifts to anger. She glare back at Bellamy.
• “Do you think this is enough to pay us?” she ask, referring to herself as if she is also part of the Brooks family and this made Sophia laugh out a little.
• “What’s so funny?” Gabriel asked upset and get up.
• He has a different beef to discuss with her and questions about the man she was with that night.
• How she has cheated on him.
• Seeing the check, Rachel could not also contain herself and get up to have a look. She widen her eyes, suddenly greedy for the money.
• “What about my injured arm? You need to pay for that as well” she said shamelessly, wanting more money.
• “That’s all I can give. After all, I barely get anything from the Brooks” Bellamy informs and Sophia clench her hands rile by her words.
• “Bellamy, you owe us for your life!” she point a finger at her sternly.
• “If it isn’t for the Brooks family, you would be on the streets picking dirts to eat” she let out.
• However, Bellamy remain calm. She just need to make things clearer and leave never to return back here.
• “The Brook family arrange a good marriage for you but you cheated and ruin it all, how could you say the family did nothing for you, you ungrateful child!” Rachel yells.
• At this, Bellamy’s face twist in irritation and anger. It seem that is the story they have all decided to go with to save Sophia and Gabriel’s image.
• “I cheated? Is that why Sophia and Gabriel are getting married in four days time?” she question and they all fall silent.
• But Gabriel soon beat it and speak up.
• “I made a mistake to have chosen you in the first place, Sophia is the one truly deserved of me. You are just an adopted daughter, you can not inherit the company” he reveals.
• The reason why he agree to the arrangement which has been made by Mr. Brooks before his death was because he thought Bellamy would inherit the Brook company.
• But seeing that after she graduated, she did not. He has manage to seduce Sophia instead and start a secret affair with her.
• “Then you should have broken up with me, why didn’t you?” Bellamy yells back.
• “Perhaps you did not want to marry Sophia, you just want her by the side” she affirms and Sophia flares up.
• She raise her hand to slap Bellamy across the face but she toss her aside and she fall on Gabriel by her side.
• “You crazy girl! How dare you hurt her? Hurting me was not enough?” Rachel scream out of her lungs.
• Bellamy put a finger in her ear at the deafening sound, she do not have time for their dramas, she need to get back soon.
• “This crazy girl will leave now” she tells them seeing her presence is no longer needed.
• She turn around and Sophia signal to Rachel with a little nod, in turn, Rachel charge at Bellamy and grab her hair suddenly.
• “You are not done yet. You need to pay us for all the damages you caused us” she scream as she grip with the hand she had bandaged.
• Bellamy is catch off guard by the attack and grip her hands on her hair to unclasp it but her hold is too strong.
• She is pull back and fall backward to the floor almost hitting her head, Rachel let go of her after that and move to stand by Sophia’s side.
• The two exchange a mischievous look and stifle their laughter as they gaze at Bellamy on the floor. She gasps as her body feels lightweight for a second.
• She struggle to get back on her feet while the two of them watch, just as she is about to get up, a glass of cold water is pour over her head.
• “The Thompson family are so upset about what you did and want to punish you for it” Sophia says as she drain the water on her body.
• Bellamy gasps loud and press her lips together not to swallow the water, she wipe her face to see clearly and stand up.
• Sophia cross her arm, not frightening and Gabriel stands by her side, his hand behind her back with an evil smirk.
• Bellamy clench her fists tightly and take a step close, she stares in silence, her eyes glaring steady at the three of them, too steady. The kind of gaze that could hold back a storm.
• Her lips stay still and slowly curve in a faint smile but the tightness in her jaw betrays the act.
• “I guess we are done now” she says, her eyes moving from one person to another. A quiet blaze burning behind her gaze but she manage to control and seethes instead.
• With that, she walk away before she can be stop again.
• When Bellamy get outside the house, she releases her courage facade and her face twists in pain she has manage to conceal earlier.
• She lean on her car and try not to fall, she thought she wouldn’t care if she is abandoned by her family but it stings.
• Also, she feel a bit weak. She is not sure if it is the headache from all what just happened inside but as she rests a bit to regain her strength, her phone chimes.
• It is a message from her Boss.
• Eyes widen and the realization that it could be it hits her, she place her palm on her stomach. Fear grips her heart imagining the little incident earlier might have harm the baby.
• She get into her car and drive away quickly to get a pregnancy test kit to see for herself.
• Closing the bathroom door, Bellamy holds the test kit with beating anxious heart and exhale before proceeding to take the test.
• She checks it after a minute and her heart sinks when it shows nothing, taking her phone quickly, she try to search and see if she has done it wrong.
• When she checks again after five minutes and there is still no two red lines, Bellamy gives up and dumb the kit inside the bin, walking out of the bathroom.
• But as she leaves, the blue line changes to red.
