  • Poppy's morning routine as an employee was business as usual. She woke up at the same time, reached for her phone on the table, which showed 5:55 AM. Glancing towards the window, she noticed the shy morning sunlight beginning to creep in. She was aware that everyone had their own circadian rhythms, also known as their body clocks. These rhythms naturally set themselves based on one's bodily conditions, automatically waking them up at nearly the same time every day.
  • She pulled back the bed covers, then walked over to the window to open it, allowing fresh air to fill the room. On her desk, she found a bottle of mineral water and changed into the running outfit she had prepared the night before. Once she was dressed, she headed out to jog around the neighborhood.
  • Even if she happened to wake up a bit late, she always made time for exercise because it significantly affected her mood. What mattered most was her consistency, as running was the most effective way to combat her laziness.
  • Poppy went downstairs and saw her aunt sweeping the floor. The woman smiled at her, and Poppy returned the gesture.
  • "Good morning, Aunt," Poppy greeted.
  • "Good morning, dear," her aunt replied. "Going for a run?"
  • "Yes, as usual," Poppy confirmed.
  • Poppy then made her way to the side door and picked up her running shoes from the shoe rack. After that, she began her jog around the neighborhood. She gazed at the morning sky; it still looked fresh, and the streets were gradually becoming busier. Poppy typically started at this time because she was cautious about jogging in the dark.
  • She watched the activities on the street as she jogged. At first, it had felt strange to run alone, but over time, she had grown comfortable with her daily jogging routine. She noticed the neighborhood's housewives busy choosing vegetables. She smiled at them, and they smiled back, as they were aware of her regular jogging routine.
  • She continued running around the neighborhood, smiling at the security personnel stationed at the security post.
  • "Good morning, Miss Poppy," one of the security guards greeted her.
  • "Good morning," Poppy replied. "I'm all fired up."
  • She kept running, but suddenly, she remembered Harvey and his words from last night: "What if your boyfriend finds out that we've been more than just that?" Those words made her uncomfortable. She admitted that she had shared passionate kisses with Harvey a few times, and it had been incredibly memorable, etched in her memory. She always got carried away with Harvey's kisses and enjoyed it when a man kissed her passionately because it heightened her libido. However, her boyfriend Nathan had never done that to her.
  • Poppy tried to refocus on her run, putting thoughts of Harvey aside. After jogging around the housing complex for half an hour, she decided to head back home. She entered the house and saw the wall clock showing 6:30 AM. Her aunt was still busy in the kitchen.
  • She went upstairs and entered her room, picking up her phone. She noticed a text message from her boyfriend Nathan.
  • Nathan: "Good morning, my love. Did you go jogging today?"
  • Poppy smiled and quickly typed a response.
  • Poppy: "Good morning, yes, just finished jogging. Getting ready for work."
  • It didn't take long for Nathan to reply.
  • Nathan: "I'll pick you up later."
  • Poppy: "Okay."
  • Her relationship with Nathan was going well. Nathan was the type of guy who was caring, a good boy, religious, and very respectful towards his parents. As an adult woman like herself, she was more interested in a good boy like Nathan. Over the past few years, her relationship with Nathan had been smooth, and she felt comfortable with her boyfriend.
  • Nathan always provided her with spiritual nourishment, and he wanted to maintain a sacred relationship, refraining from physical intimacy until their wedding day. He truly cared for her. However, what she had done with Harvey yesterday felt like a betrayal to Nathan. She knew she was in the wrong for allowing herself to be carried away by Harvey's kisses. Regardless, Nathan was the ideal man to be her husband. Her family only knew that she and Nathan were close friends, not a couple. She had introduced Nathan to her family only once, and that was during Christmas.
  • She found herself thinking about Harvey again. Oh God, she could go crazy if she kept dwelling on him. She tried to refocus her mind to prevent herself from going mad. Taking a warm shower to refresh her body, she emerged from the bathroom a few minutes later.
  • Poppy opened her wardrobe and chose an emerald green pencil skirt and a matching silk blouse, inspired by Meghan Markle's style. The deep emerald tone made her look slimmer and more elegant. She completed the look with nude-colored high heels. Truth be told, she often imitated Meghan Markle's fashion choices because she found them very classy. She tied her long hair back.
