Chapter 7

  • "What are you thinking?" Harvey asked, gazing at Poppy.
  • "Oh, nothing," Poppy replied, looking at Harvey. She glanced at his well-built physique. She was sure how comfortable it would be to be held by such a strong body. She couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be intimate with her boss. Would their encounters be passionate? Would he be the type to play rough, or would he be gentle?
  • Poppy shook off her thoughts, swallowed hard, and decided to step back towards the bed. She couldn't believe she had even considered sleeping with Harvey.
  • "I'm tired, going to sleep," Poppy said, then climbed into bed.
  • Poppy pulled the bedcover up to her chest and settled on her left side. Meanwhile, Harvey watched Poppy as she got under the covers. He walked over to the room's light switch, turned off the overhead light, leaving only the bedside lamp on, creating a tranquil and dim atmosphere.
  • Harvey poured himself another glass of beer and sat on the sofa, taking a sip. Poppy shifted her sleeping position to her side, keeping an eye on Harvey from a distance. They exchanged glances in the semi-darkness. Poppy tried to close her eyes, but a restless feeling lingered. She opened her eyes again and looked at Harvey under the soft light.
  • Harvey wasn't sure what was bothering Poppy, making her seem uneasy. He placed his glass on the table and decided to approach her. He lay down beside her, propping his arm under his head, and looked into Poppy's eyes.
  • "Why?" Harvey asked softly, gazing at Poppy.
  • "It's okay," Poppy replied.
  • "Are you restless?"
  • "No."
  • "But you look restless."
  • Poppy sighed, shifting her body to lie on her back and staring at the ceiling. She felt Harvey's warm hand touching her fingers. The touch seemed to spread throughout her entire body. Her chest tightened, making it difficult to breathe. She grew increasingly restless and anxious. Harvey's fingers slid between hers, and she didn't know what to do, so she chose to get up from the bed.
  • Poppy distanced herself from Harvey, standing near the window and gazing at the skyscrapers. Leaning against the wall, she saw Harvey also getting up from the bed. They locked eyes, knowing what was on each other's minds.
  • "Don't..." Poppy whispered.
  • "Why not, Poppy?" Harvey replied.
  • Poppy turned to look at Harvey, not far from her. "Please..."
  • "Poppy."
  • "Oh God," Poppy took a step towards Harvey and then kissed his lips passionately. This was what she had wanted to feel all along. She couldn't control herself any longer and initiated it.
  • Harvey felt Poppy's lips against his, and her kisses were incredibly gentle. He held Poppy's head with his fingers, allowing him to kiss her more freely. He responded to her kisses softly and deeply. They were locked in a passionate embrace, sucking and playing with each other's tongues. Over time, their kisses became faster and more rhythmic.
  • Harvey pressed Poppy's body against the wall, pulling her waist closer to his until there was no space between them. Their bodies pressed against each other and rubbed against one another. They continued to suck and kiss each other, neither wanting to stop.
  • Harvey's hand explored Poppy's body without any intention of letting go of his desires. Harvey's hand actively touched Poppy's thigh and slipped into her G-string, caressing with his fingers. Poppy felt a powerful rush through her body, losing control. Her legs went weak like jelly, and if it weren't for Harvey supporting her, she wouldn't be able to stand upright.
  • Harvey released his grip and shifted his attention to Poppy's neck, kissing it deeply, licking and gently nibbling. Poppy's heart raced like a marathon, and it felt like her heart was floating, accompanied by thousands of butterflies fluttering in her stomach. Moans escaped her lips; she had longed for a touch like this.
  • Poppy realized what she had done; she shouldn't have allowed this to happen. She instantly thought of Nathan, her boyfriend. Poppy pulled away from Harvey, knowing that this was a mistake. She distanced herself from him, trying to regain her composure. She didn't want her madness to continue.
  • "Stop, please don't touch me," Poppy said, knowing she was in the wrong.
  • Poppy then headed to the bed, crawled under the covers, and closed her eyes. She wouldn't open her eyes even if Harvey touched her again. Harvey took a deep breath, looking at Poppy in the bed. He smiled and approached the bed. He lay down right beside the woman.
  • "Good night, Poppy," Harvey said. This time, he didn't touch her, and he wouldn't force Poppy to do anything.
  • ***
  • Poppy gazed at her reflection in the mirror. She was wearing a navy satin mini dress with a low neckline. She had let her long hair cascade down her back, and she applied perfume to her neck. She couldn't help but think about what she had done with Harvey yesterday. Since that kiss, she had been trying to avoid him. Yesterday, she had acted professionally, accompanying Harvey to meet with the Subway owner. After that, they had decided to go back to their rooms.
  • Poppy glanced at her circular watch, which showed 08:30 AM. She intended to have breakfast because her stomach was demanding to be filled. She put on her high heels and walked out of the room. She calmly made her way down the hallway, passing by Harvey's room, which was still tightly closed. She hoped not to run into Harvey this morning because she had desperately avoided leaving her room yesterday.
  • "Poppy!"
  • Oh God, she knew whose deep voice it was; it was Harvey. She had hoped not to encounter him. Just as she was stepping away from her room, she never expected him to come out too. Poppy turned to look back at Harvey.
  • He was wearing a dark blue shirt and jeans. Poppy could hardly believe they were both wearing the same shade of blue.
  • "Hi," Poppy said calmly.
  • Harvey looked at Poppy, who was wearing a blue dress that he found quite sexy, revealing her smooth back. Harvey approached Poppy, and her lips curled into a smile.
  • "Want breakfast?" Harvey asked.
  • "Yes."
  • "Great, then let's go together," Harvey said, matching Poppy's stride.
  • Harvey could catch the fresh scent of peony flowers from Poppy's body. He knew it was her signature perfume. He never grew tired of smelling Poppy's scent. In fact, he was willing to spend the entire day kissing every part of her body.
  • Harvey glanced at Poppy as they entered the elevator. "You look stunning this morning."
  • "Thank you," Poppy replied.
  • "We didn't plan to wear the same color, did we?"
  • "No."
  • "Why do you think we're matching then?"
