• Eva tossed the phone aside after listening to Denzel’s voicemail. He knew she was the one. She started the engine of her car and sped away from the hospital premises. She couldn’t go home. Not if she didn’t want the police to visit her and transport her back to New Rochelle. She needed an alibi. Enough proof that she hadn’t gone to the hospital. She took a turn at Madison avenue and drove through the already-busy streets. She stopped a few minutes in Daniel’s compound. She rushed to the porch and slammed the door.
