  • Inside, the cave is no bigger than an office storage closet. Sand floor. Sharp rock walls that drip water from somewhere deeper. The pounding rain turns the mouth of the cave into a curtain — they can’t see the trees, can’t see the sea. Just each other and the hiss of the downpour.
