The squad filed into the press event looking perfect — matching smiles, hair pinned just so, their championship energy bottled up for cameras and sponsors. And there she was: skirt too short, lips too red, eyes darting to the man standing by the stage like he owned the whole fucking league.
- Coach Maddox. Rival sideline king. Headset gone, suit tight over those wide shoulders. He didn’t even pretend not to look at her when she crossed her legs for the front row — one inch too high. The smirk that twitched at the corner of his mouth nearly made her knees knock together right there.
