- I struggled to breathe as Thane stepped into the clearing. Every fiber of my being urged me to run, but I felt stuck. The huge wolf that had almost attacked me was now still, its eyes glowing but its fury calmed by Thane Riven's presence.
- "What do you want from me?" I asked, my voice trembling more than I expected, fear evident in my tone. My thoughts raced as I weighed my choices. I sensed the power within me, the werewolf strength I was still trying to master, but I doubted if I could face both Thane and the wolf.
