Chapter 25 The Edge Of Darkness
- The chilly air stung my face as we moved into the darkness, the cabin disappearing behind us. Julian was in front, his steps quick and quiet, barely making a sound on the ground. I felt every nerve in my body tense. The howls grew louder, more desperate, echoing through the trees like a haunting song.
- Asher leaned on me, struggling to breathe. He wasn’t completely better, but we had to keep moving. Cyrus was out there, his wolves getting closer, and I felt a dark pull in my chest, as if he was trying to draw me toward something unknown.
- “Be quiet,” Julian said softly, looking back at us as he pushed through the bushes. His face was tight, shadows dancing in his eyes as he watched the forest around us.
