Chapter 33 Into The Abyss

  • My breath echoed loudly in my ears as I stumbled through the dense underbrush. Every part of me urged me to run faster, but my legs felt heavy, as if stuck in quicksand. I couldn’t stop now. I was so close.

  • I looked back, half-expecting to see Thane’s twisted figure emerging from the darkness, his cruel eyes shining with triumph. But the woods behind me were empty—at least for now.
