Chapter 33 Into The Abyss

• My breath echoed loudly in my ears as I stumbled through the dense underbrush. Every part of me urged me to run faster, but my legs felt heavy, as if stuck in quicksand. I couldn’t stop now. I was so close.
• The forest was darker than ever, with towering trees looming over me like ancient guardians, their branches reaching out as if to pull me back. The moonlight barely broke through the leaves, casting everything in deep shadows. Every snap of a twig or rustle of leaves sent my heart racing.
• I looked back, half-expecting to see Thane’s twisted figure emerging from the darkness, his cruel eyes shining with triumph. But the woods behind me were empty—at least for now.
