Chapter 38 Unseen Forces
- The atmosphere was charged with an electric tension as I stood paralyzed, my gaze fixed on the dim, flickering light emanating from the cavern's depths. My heart raced wildly, a rapid beat that reverberated against the rugged stone walls surrounding me. It felt as if the very earth beneath me was alive, shifting and groaning under the weight of ancient secrets it had guarded for ages. And those secrets were on the verge of surfacing.
- “Bonnie?” Asher’s voice sliced through the silence, urgent and low. He moved closer, his grip on my arm tightening, yet I remained transfixed. There was something in that light, an irresistible pull that I couldn’t shake off. It resonated deep within me, a warning echoing in the pit of my stomach.
- “I don’t know,” I managed to whisper, the words barely escaping my lips. The glow pulsed again, brighter this time, almost as if it were alive, waiting for something.
