Chapter 9

• Evelyn paced the length of the dimly lit room with agony sobs. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest reminding her that she was stuck. Her wrists ached where she had pounded them against the door the minute before in rage. She screamed and cursed until her throat was sore. But nobody answered, except for the maids who brought meals for her. Adrian never came to see her since last night when Matteo came.
