• Adrian carried Evelyn in bridal style and walked down the corridor to his bedroom. Marco walked ahead of him, shoving the maids out of the way.
• "Prepare Miss Evelyn's room," Marco instructed.
• He opened the door of his room and Adrian proceeded straight to the bed, gently putting Evelyn down. Her face was as pale as a sheet, her chest struggling on shallow breaths. He cleared the hair on her face and his heart clenched as he watched her.
