Chapter 8

• Matteo sat rigidly in the leather chair of Adrian's living room, his arms tensed on the armrest with his fist tightly clenched, chest heaving and falling in seething rage that he was struggling to contain.
• He knew that Adrian had taken Evelyn, and he was here for just one purpose–to rescue her from him.
• Adrian walked down the stairs to the living room, with a straight and empty face. His entrance was an infuriating exercise in dominance. He walked like a man who owned everything around him, including the air Matteo was breathing.
