Chapter 16

• The bathroom door creaked closed over the quiet of the bedroom. Evelyn stepped out wrapped in a white towel and water dripping from her body. Her wet hair clung to her shoulders as she moved further into the bedroom towards the dressing table only to stop dead in her tracks
• Matteo sat on the bed with his arms folded on his chest and back resting on the headboard surrounded by the dim light mixed with the darkness of the bedroom.
• Her heart slammed against her. "Jesus, Matteo!" she panted, gripping the towel on her chest. "You nearly gave me a heart attack!"
