• Cassian had gone to fetch my father from the hands of the captives when I heard the door being opened. I had to hide behind the shelves to take a proper, unnoticeable look at the intruder. My heart was beating very fast in my chest when I saw Jace walk in.
• He must have believed that no one was inside. He didn't see or hear anything after all. I stayed behind the shelves, waiting to see what he would do, believing everyone was absent, until I suddenly heard him call my name.
