Chapter 6 Madam Shen, Why Don’t You Consider My Father?

  • Shen Beiyi’s brows furrowed, but she didn’t dare ask further. After all, while Ning Xiaoxi wasn’t hostile toward her, he was still wary of her.
  • Meanwhile, in the lobby of the hotel.
  • Gao Wen looked alluring with her long curly chestnut hair swept over a shoulder and a faint smile on her face.
  • Ning Shaochen, on the other hand, was exceptionally handsome in a dark gray suit. The two of them seemed to be talking about something happy as they appeared to be in high spirits.
  • “Ah!” Shen Beiyi’s sudden shout had both of them turning to look out the window in unison.
  • “My shirt! Ning Xiaoxi, how could you have filled the conch with water?”
  • They saw Shen Beiyi twisting her shirt at her chest with both hands, her head lowered. As she was tugging at it hard, her flat stomach was vaguely visible. After twisting twice, she pulled her shirt down, but her curves were starkly visible since her shirt was wet at the chest.
  • When the gaze of a man who walked past alighted on her, there was a hint of flirtation in his eyes.
  • Gao Wen lowered her head and took a sip of coffee. I’d never noticed that this nanny had such an incredibly amazing figure. If it weren’t for her looks, she would’ve truly suspected that the woman was here because of Ning Shaochen.
  • She reflexively glanced at Ning Shaochen, only to realize that he’d already retracted his gaze without having much emotion on his face. She gave a light chuckle inwardly. I’ve truly thought too much. With his status and looks, there would be all sorts of women coming onto him out there.
  • “Madam Shen, did I ask you to pour water on yourself?” Ning Xiaoxi merely countered her reproach mildly, but there was a hint of craftiness concealed in his dark round eyes after having successfully pulled off his shenanigan.
  • “Ning Xiaoxi, how dare you say it wasn’t deliberate?” She’d only turned the conch over because he asked her to listen to the sound within the conch. This trait of being such a two-faced brat even at his tender age definitely hadn’t been inherited from her.
  • Ning Xiaoxi didn’t answer her anymore. His tiny face was devoid of emotion, but the corners of his lips were tilted slightly upward.
  • “Xiaoxi seems to like this nanny quite a lot.” Gao Wen observed their interaction, before picking up a small spoon and stirring the coffee in her cup. That child had never interacted with her in such a manner no matter how hard she tried.
  • Ning Shaochen didn’t respond to that; he merely asked, “Are you hungry? Let’s go and eat.”
  • “Sure.”
  • In the room, after Shen Beiyi had changed Ning Xiaoxi, she went into the bathroom to change her clothes besides also freshening up for a bit.
  • When she came out, Ning Xiaoxi was holding her cell phone, pressing something on it. Upon seeing that, she strode forward a few steps and snatched it away from him. “Since you made me wet, I’m not giving you my cell phone to play with.”
  • Ning Xiaoxi wasn’t at all bothered by her words. Instead, he declared, “Madam Shen, my father is actually quite good. Why don’t you consider him?”
  • Shen Beiyi took out a hairdryer from the drawer of the bedside table and started drying Ning Xiaoxi’s hair. “Consider him? You overestimate me. Your father is the cream of the crop among the tall, rich, and handsome, so I’m not his match.”
  • After saying that, she couldn’t help feeling bitter. Is love still in the cards for me in my life?
  • Putting down the hairdryer, she hugged Ning Xiaoxi all of a sudden. “What do you think about being my child in the future?”
  • Ning Xiaoxi’s brows creased for a moment. “Is it possible for you to ever give birth to a son who has such a high IQ like me?” Although his tone was mocking, he still burrowed into her arms.
  • Ning Shaochen who happened to come back to take something overheard this conversation when he walked past their room, and he frowned deeply. She’s asking Ning Xiaoxi to be her child? This nanny’s words and deeds are truly odd.
  • “Ha ha… Ning Xiaoxi, stop. Ha ha…” The woman’s laughter suddenly floated out from within the room, but in a short while, it turned into the soft laughter of a young boy.
  • “Ha ha… ha ha…”
  • “Do you still dare mount a sneak attack on me?”
  • “Ha ha… n-no, I won’t do it again… Ha ha…”
  • Subsequently, it was the noises of them bickering.
  • Just from his voice, Ning Shaochen could tell that the brat was very happy, so much so that he’d never seen him so joyful.
  • As his mind went back to the past, about five years ago, Xiaoxi was suddenly handed over to him by his old man, who claimed that Xiaoxi was his son.
  • He was dead certain that he’d never made the mistake of impregnating someone out there, but he couldn’t argue when the DNA test claimed otherwise.
  • All these years, no matter what method he used, he couldn’t pry open his parent’s mouths.
  • He’d also spent a lot of effort investigating the matter, but there was no news at all, so it was apparent that his old man had redressed the issue.
  • Hence, to this very day, he had absolutely no idea what the story was behind this child, and he didn’t quite know how to be a father before him either.
  • Then, Ning Shaochen walked away. Just as he was about to call Liu Xu, a call came in from that very person.
  • “Shaochen, there’s a lead regarding the issue back then!”
