- The cafeteria was chaos as usual; trays clattering, students shouting across tables, the smell of grease thick in the air. But somehow, we’d claimed a quiet corner near the windows, where the sunlight hit just right.
- Tessa was poking at her salad like it had personally offended her. Michelle had three fries hanging out of her mouth and was scrolling through her phone like a zombie. Evelyn? Well, Evelyn was on a whole other level.
- “I’m serious,” she said, eyes gleaming with excitement. “We should totally do a sleepover. Like old-school—movies, face masks, making bad decisions. My place is boring, so let’s do it at yours, Gina.”
