Chapter 9 Heading To Lofbury University

  • “Larissa! Get out here now!”
  • Listening to the uproar outside, a scornful smirk tugged at the corners of Larissa's lips.
  • If she weren't in Clusia and didn't have important matters to attend to, she would have certainly snapped Anais' neck.
  • After turning on the computer, the flood of messages in the group chat kept on coming.
  • Larissa couldn't be bothered to engage in idle chatter with them anymore, so she directly messaged Black Wolf privately.
  • Black Mamba texted: Have the drug handover directed straight to me.
  • Black Wolf replied: Where were you just now?
  • Black Mamba texted: I went to reason with someone.
  • Black Wolf: Huh? Reason with someone?
  • When has Black Snake ever reasoned with anyone?
  • Black Mamba texted: I suddenly realized that this world is too cruel... Hug Oneself
  • After sending the sticker, Larissa quickly retracted it.
  • Black Wolf texted: What was that?
  • Black Mamba replied: Nothing. I'll go make the handover.
  • Black Wolf texted: By the way, when are you planning to return?
  • Black Mamba replied: I won't be returning for now. I'm currently basking in the warmth of family.
  • After shutting her laptop, Larissa leaned back in her chair, closing her eyes for a moment.
  • Meanwhile, at a training base located on an island in the southern part of Pandera Ocean.
  • A man dressed in camouflage sat on a speedboat in the open sea, staring at the text on his phone with a bewildered expression.
  • The warmth of family? If my memory serves me right, Black Snake had returned home four years ago. After returning, she was bursting with energy and worked the rookies under her command over repeatedly. That year, the mortality rate in Zone 21 had exceeded the limit, leading to Black Snake being suspended from her duties for two years. The warmth in this family sure was a bit too much. Does she have an incinerator as a family?
  • After zoning out for nearly three minutes, Black Wolf tucked his phone back into his pocket. He adjusted the loudspeaker and called out to the rookies who were currently enjoying themselves in the shark zone.
  • “Black Mamba is out on a mission, and you guys are fortunate enough to cross paths with me, Black Wolf, the head instructor of Zone 15! Zone 15 has always had the lowest fatality rate across the entire base. I believe that you will all be able to walk out of this base in one piece under my training!”
  • The rookies fell silent after hearing that.
  • F*ck!
  • Three days later, the drug was obtained, coinciding perfectly with the start of the academic year at Lofbury University.
  • Larissa had never attended school since she was young, but she held a diploma from a certain overseas diploma mill.
  • Aside from being Black Mamba of Briostein, she needed another identity.
  • A genuine existence in this world, an identity that could withstand scrutiny.
  • Larissa swiftly stuffed several boxes of the drugs from the table into her bag, then, dragging her suitcase behind her, she headed out the door.
  • Going to school was a good idea as it would spare her from facing the cunning and unscrupulous monsters she called family every single day.
  • Once the files were located, going abroad as an exchange student wouldn't be a problem.
  • After descending the stairs, the living room was eerily empty with only a single housekeeper diligently mopping the floor.
  • Larissa squinted her eyes and asked, “Where is everyone?”
  • The housekeeper straightened up, glanced at Larissa, and said, “Mr. Stenz and Mrs. Stenz have taken Ms. Anais to school.”
  • Larissa didn't seem to mind. “All right, then,” she replied with a nod.
  • The family of three was living in harmony and she didn't want to intrude on their happiness.
  • Larissa leisurely dragged her suitcase out the door, hailed a taxi online, and headed straight for Lofbury University.
  • Today was the first day of the new term, and there was a massive crowd at Lofbury University. The streets were filled with private cars lined up for hundreds of meters, creating an absolutely impassable traffic jam.
  • “We'll have to stop here. There's a traffic jam up ahead. We can't get through,” the taxi driver said.
  • As he glanced back at the strikingly beautiful young girl in the back seat, he couldn't help but make an additional comment.
  • “The new term has just started today. Why didn't you let your parents drop you off instead?”
  • Larissa glanced at the message on her phone before casually stating, “Oh, I'm an orphan.”
  • The taxi driver paused, his gaze meeting Larissa's and immediately filling with sympathy.
  • After getting off the car, Larissa dragged her suitcase along, leisurely making her way toward the direction of the university on the pedestrian path.
  • She glanced down at the offer letter she held in her hand.
  • School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, department of visual arts, animation major.
  • Quite coincidentally, when she was previously involved in game programming, she had a period where she struggled with the art design aspect. She even devoted special attention to studying it for a while.
  • “Miss, you're in the department of performance arts, aren't you?”
  • Just as she reached the school gate, a tall and handsome male student approached her. He greeted her enthusiastically by saying, “Hello, I'm a third-year student in the department of performance arts at Lofbury University. You're also a performance arts major, aren't you? Here, let me help you with your luggage.”
  • Upon hearing this, Larissa glanced at the badge on his chest and said nonchalantly, “No need. Also, I'm majoring in animation.”
  • “Animation?”
  • The male student's face displayed a look of astonishment.
  • He glanced at Larissa's face, then shifted his gaze to the admission letter she held in her hand.
  • A visual arts student with a face like that?
  • “Is there a problem?”
  • “N-No. The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences is registering over here... Edith, I've found a junior with the same major as you!” the male student quickly responded.
