Chapter 10 Larissa Stenz

  • On the plaza in front of Lofbury University, a row of tables and chairs were arranged. In front of each table and chair stood a sign bearing the names of various departments and majors.
  • The students from the student council, responsible for the orientation event, were uniformly dressed in white tees imprinted with the university's logo.
  • Behind the sign of the animation major department, the young man removed the book that was covering his face and sat up straight.
  • “Register your ID card and phone number here. The cost for a universal card is two hundred and fifteen, of which fifteen is the card fee, leaving two hundred on the card—”
  • Before he could finish his sentence, Edith Quirk had already clearly seen the face of the young girl in front of him.
  • “What the f*ck?”
  • Why does this junior look so pretty? Looking like that, she could totally make a living off her looks! Why bother studying animation at all?
  • Larissa gently tapped on the table and asked, “So, are we still going through with this?”
  • “Y-Yes.”
  • Edith perked up entirely, promptly handing over the ballpoint pen on the table to Larissa.
  • “Miss, are you really an animation major?”
  • The domestic animation industry was in decline, and at Lofbury University, there was typically only one class for animation major each year, and most of it was filled with transferred students.
  • She must be a transfer student as well, right?
  • Edith glanced at the name on the registration form.
  • Larissa Stenz... That's a nice name.
  • “It was arranged by my family,” Larissa mentioned casually.
  • Seeing that she didn't want to elaborate, Edith didn't press her for more information.
  • After completing the registration, he exchanged a few words with the person next to him. Then he stood up and said, “Let me show you to the dorm, miss.”
  • Larissa nodded, expressing her thanks.
  • Edith had wanted to help Larissa with her luggage, but Larissa had declined his offer.
  • When they first met, Edith, to Larissa's surprise, was rather attractive and had an aloof demeanor. However, as they journeyed together, he turned out to be quite the chatterbox, endlessly sharing campus gossip with her.
  • “I had thought that the title of the most beautiful girl in our school year would undisputedly go to Anais from the department of performance arts. But now that I've seen you, I know that she doesn't stand a chance.”
  • “Anais?” Larissa turned her head to look at him.
  • Isn't this just the beginning of the first year? It appears Anais is quite well-known at Lofbury University.
  • Edith scoffed, “She used to be the campus belle at our affiliated high school. Her father is the chairman of Stenz Corporation, and her brother is Eugene Stenz, an A-lister. However, her character leaves much to be desired. If you ever get to know her, it's best to keep your distance.”
  • Larissa slowly narrowed her eyes, letting out a laugh.
  • “Come to think of it, both of your last names are Stenz... That's quite an uncommon surname, isn't it?”
  • Larissa nodded casually. “It is indeed uncommon.”
  • In just a few minutes, the two had arrived at the girls' dorm.
  • Feeling a bit embarrassed, Edith ran his fingers through his blond hair.
  • “Um... Could I possibly get your contact details, miss? I'm your senior from second year, so feel free to ask me anything in the future.”
  • “Sure, go ahead and scan my QR code,” she said.
  • Larissa then pulled out her phone and added Edith on WhatsApp.
  • “All right, then. You go ahead, miss. I've got things to attend to,” he said.
  • Larissa's first-year animation dorm was on the fourth floor. After climbing the stairs, she followed the room numbers to find her way.
  • In the four-person dormitory, everyone else had already arrived, except for her.
  • Two girls were seated face-to-face, engrossed in conversation. They appeared to be quite familiar with each other.
  • Another girl was touching up her makeup in front of the vanity mirror on the table.
  • Upon noticing someone entering, the two girls who were engrossed in their conversation turned around. Upon seeing Larissa's appearance, they were initially taken aback, but quickly composed themselves and stood up to greet her.
  • “Hello, my name is Naomi Smith. This is Elena Coleman. You must be Larissa, right? You are truly beautiful.”
  • The girl who was speaking had a bob haircut and a baby-face. When she laughed, her large eyes curved like crescent moons.
  • She pointed at the only vacant bed in the dormitory and continued, “That's your bed, number four. Your name is on the locker.”
  • The girl standing nearby was slender and tall. She too, flashed a smile as she said, “Nice to meet you.”
  • Larissa had never interacted with girls her age throughout her childhood, so she found the sudden change a bit overwhelming. After a brief pause, she said, “I'm glad to meet you all.”
  • The girl who was applying makeup glanced back, furrowed her brows, but remained silent, continuing to trace her eyeliner in the mirror.
  • Naomi lowered her voice, “That's Jennifer Clark. She doesn't talk much, but she means no harm.”
  • Larissa didn't utter a word and just let out a soft laugh.
  • They were just a few girls, after all. Regardless of their intentions, their actions bore little relevance to her, so she simply didn't care.
  • Elite mercenaries and warlords from military units worldwide had been reduced to tears under her rigorous training. Naturally, she believed she would be able to handle the minor issues on campus effortlessly.
  • Naomi and Elena were both locals who had previously been students at Lofbury University's affiliated high school, so they were well-versed in the school's gossip and rumors.
  • The two spent half an hour chatting with Larissa, and in that short span of time, Larissa had already grasped a comprehensive understanding of the school, from top to bottom. She even knew which cafeteria window served the tastiest food.
  • Once they had gotten to know each other, the conversation inevitably circled back to why Larissa had chosen to major in animation.
