Chapter 7 I Warned You Not To Play Games

  • Larissa massaged her temples, not replying to that message.
  • She was well aware in her heart.
  • Not being able to retrieve the file certainly wouldn't result in her having to end her own life. After all, their mentor still needed her to refine his modern weapons. However, she would definitely be in for a world of trouble.
  • The Inspection Office was a government organization, so retrieving the file would be no easier than finding a needle in a haystack, especially when it was in Clusia!
  • Sheep: Is it really that serious? @Black Wolf
  • “Black Wolf: Oh, I almost forgot about you. You let the man go, so you're in the same boat as Black Snake.
  • He then sent two smiling emojis.”
  • Silver Fox sent a smirking sticker, which garnered a panicked one from Sheep.
  • Larissa was lazily leaning against the back of the chair, her fingers rhythmically tapping on the table.
  • Black Wolf: Black Snake? You still around?
  • Black Mamba: Shoot!
  • Black Wolf: Someone's been digging into your information. When we traced them back, we discovered that the person was in Lofbury.
  • Black Mamba: That's it?
  • If it wasn't because the person who stole the information was in Lofbury, she wouldn't have come back here. She had much better things to do.
  • Black Wolf: The same person spent ten times the market price on the black market website to purchase a batch of experimental drugs.
  • Black Mamba: Medicine for wounds?
  • Black Wolf: It's the batch of special-effect drugs you concocted in the lab last time. They're currently still in the human trial phase.
  • Larissa's expression turned serious.
  • Black Wolf: He probably has no idea that the medicine originated from Briostein. The handover will take place in a few days. How about I give you the location and you set up an ambush?
  • Black Mamba: No need, just hand me the medicine.
  • No sooner had the message been sent than a knock at the door suddenly echoed.
  • Larissa furrowed her brows, promptly closing her laptop. She then stood up to answer the door.
  • Outside the door was Anais, clad in a silk nightgown.
  • “Anais, do you need something?” Larissa leaned against the doorframe, looking at Anais from the corner of her eye.
  • With what seemed like a surge of courage, Anais addressed Larissa, “Rissa, I feel like you're biased against me. Can we have a serious talk about this?”
  • Her voice was incredibly gentle, and her face was both beautiful and innocent. She appeared much like a typical caring and considerate elder sister.
  • But Anais' true colors were something Larissa had always been crystal clear about.
  • Four years ago, it was the same, and four years later, nothing had changed.
  • “Go ahead, what do you want to discuss?” Larissa remained leaning against the doorway, clearly not intending to let Anais inside.
  • With a twitch of her lips, Anais managed to say, “School is starting in a few days. You've been abroad for so long, so you might find it hard to adjust to life back here...”
  • Larissa had been abducted as a child, and no one knew what she had gone through.
  • Nonetheless, just by observing her temperament, it was clear that she definitely didn't come from a pleasant place.
  • Did such a person even deserve to come back and compete with her, Anais?
  • Despite feeling a sense of disdain inside, Anais maintained a gentle expression on her face. “Don't worry. Once we're at school, if you need anything, you can always come to me. I'll definitely help you.”
  • Before Anais could even come close, her wrist was abruptly seized by Larissa.
  • Larissa chuckled, her eyebrows raised slightly. “What are you planning to place on me? Why don't you bring it out for me to see?”
  • “It's nothing.”
  • Anais wanted to pull her hand back, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't budge Larissa in the slightest.
  • “Let go! Release me! What do you think you're doing?”
  • Larissa gently and patiently loosened each of her tightly clenched fingers.
  • As expected, what Anais held in her hand was a diamond necklace.
  • The main diamond on the necklace was estimated to be over 20 carats, making it of considerable value.
  • Anais was flustered. “I-I just took it off. I didn't mean to do anything...”
  • Larissa looked her straight in the eyes, her voice calm and steady as she said, “Anais, haven't I warned you not to play these little games with me?”
  • Four years ago, Anais had deliberately sabotaged Sienna's formal dress, intending to frame Larissa for it. However, her plan backfired, and she ended up being severely beaten by Larissa.
  • Even so, it seemed she hadn't learned her lesson yet.
  • Putting aside whether she even has the capability to touch me, if she had succeeded, what then? Was she going to accuse me of stealing her necklace?
  • Anyone with an IQ exceeding the average human intelligence by fifty percent would never come up with such a lousy idea.
  • “I didn't!”
  • “Could you repeat that?”
  • “I...”
  • The amusement in Larissa's eyes deepened.
  • Under the terrified gaze of Anais, she lifted her hand to clutch the former's chin, forcing her to open her mouth. She then ruthlessly stuffed the diamond necklace into Anais' mouth.
  • “Swallow this necklace, and I'll consider today's matter settled.”
  • In truth, Larissa really disdained the idea of laying a hand on someone like Anais.
  • With the strength in her hands, if she had used her full power, a single slap could have spun Anais' head around a full 180 degrees, making her face end up where the back of her head was.
  • However, when it was time for a lesson, a lesson had to be given.
  • “You... Mmph... H-Help... Save me...”
