• I am watching from the front windows. Cassie's wolf is backing away from Kyle. Her hackles are raised, and she is ready to fight. She has been dying to sink her teeth into him since the day he turned eighteen and marked Jesse. But this isn't her fight, and if I am honest, it isn't Atticus's fight either.
• He told me to stay inside. He was worried the anxiety of Kyle being on our territory was too much for me to bear. But as I stare out of the window at his sorry ass, I don't feel afraid anymore.
