Chapter 56 Plans

• Kyle POV
• Hushed voices wake me from my sleep. I try to open my eyes, but it is painful. I reach up and touch my face, and it feels numb to the touch. Running my fingers over my cheeks, they feel tight and swollen. Squeezing my eyes shut, I try to force them open again, but they only open slightly.
• My vision is blurry, but I can make out my father speaking to another man. "No one can know about the nature of what happened," my father tells the man. "It will ruin Kyle's life."
